The Wedding: Last week Dave and I took a vacation. We flew to LaGuardia, NYC on Friday and drove up to White Plains. We checked into the hotel and then had dinner with Ryan and Susan Rons, Shelly and Mike Rifkin, Arlene and Blanche Langer and the bride's parents and friends.
On Saturday we took the Railroad into NYC to visit my aunt Florence at her nursing home and also saw my cousin Susan. Then we took the train back from Grand Central to White Plains and got ready for the Wedding. At the wedding we saw Jenny and Dave's cousins, Danny & Ida, Lori and Steve, Julia, Robert, Shelly & Arlene and Blanche and Susan. Also saw Ilana & Carlos Dall'orso. Ilana said Emily is going to attend Smith College in the fall and Carlos is opening his 4th Spokesmen Cycles store.
Sunday we had brunch with the Langers and then drove to my friend Debbie's summer home in Garrison NY. It was pouring with rain and I took a tumble on the steps getting into her house. We met her son David and his girlfriend Trish and Martin too. They have a very cute dog named Little Ricky. Finally the sun came out and we had BBQ. I saw a doe and her baby walk across the lawn after the rain. Then we drove to Fishkill and spend the night in a Courtyard.
On Monday we drove through Connecticut, up through Mass and Vt and then over into NH and drove up to Bretton Woods. We stopped at Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor on Lake Winnipesauki. Great Quilt shop and beautiful lake.
The Mt. Washington Hotel and Resort at Bretton Harbor is really something. Here is a link to the web site. http://www.mountwashingtonresort.com/.
We took the Cog Railroad up to the top of Mt. Washington and saw beautiful views. Here's a link to info about the Railway: ttp://www.cog-railway.com. We had a spectacular day and could see forever.http://www.cog-railway.com/images/sumbld.jpg
The next day we drove in Maine and around Lake Sebago. Wikipedia says: The lake is 316 feet (96 m) deep at its deepest point, with a mean depth of 101 feet (31 m), covers about 45 square miles (117 km2) in surface area, has a length of 12 miles (19 km) and a shoreline length of 105 miles (169 km). The surface is around 270 feet (82 m) above sea level, so the deep bottom is below the present sea level.[3
We stopped for lunch in a Chinese Restaurant. We stopped at an Ice Cream store and Yarn Shop. Then we drove back to New Hampshire.
